We Must make Canada Great!

Our nation of Canada has the largest land area of any nation on the face of the earth; our natural resources are as great as any other nation and greater than many. Our Prime Minister has promoted the fact that our budget is balanced when many other nations are still plagued with a financial deficit. However, Our nation’s wealth and resources and even a healthy economy cannot make a great nation.

If our nation is going to be great, it won’t be one man, even as Prime Minister that will make it great. A nation must be made great by the actions of its people. We know from the truth of God’s Word that the nation of Israel was a great nation at times during its history, and at other times it was destitute and downtrodden. It is more than interesting that its periods of greatness coincide with the times when it was in closest fellowship with God and obedience to His Laws. Every great nation on the face of this earth has become great for the same reasons.

(Deu 4:7) For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

8) And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

Contrast those things with nations that tolerate evil, tyranny, and self-reliance. Those nations lose power as they move away from God. They crumble from within when they make laws that contradict God’s perfect laws of righteousness.

The greatest nation is that nation

which subjects itself to the greatest power.

Happy is that people, that is in such a case:

yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

(Psalm 144:15)
